Show for Kristen's Gift/CHaD Update

Hi All

So I was totally exhausted today and just slept. Meghan was even very quiet today. Imagine that.

Well as most of you know last night was our 3rd Annual "Come Together" show. This year we chose to raise the funds for the pediatric cancer dept. at Children's Hospital at Dartmouth so all funds raised went to Kristen's Gift. To learn more about it just google it.

The past two years we raised $1900, $2365, and this year our goal was $3000.

WE DID IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We raised $4610.00 and we still have a few checks coming in.
So we are so excited.

It was a fabulous show. All the girls and audience had alot of fun. Meghan challenged me to wear a cocktail dress, steletto heels, and fishnet stockings. So I did. Meghan did the intro and brought me out on stage with Miss NH Rachel Barker and she taught me the Miss NH Strut.
Yeah ok you can stop laughing now. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Although I had the shoes off before I left the stage. I did keep the dress on as Meghan wished. I will have pictures up here as soon as I get them.

The story of the night is not that. It is that the show was in HONOR and MEMORY of a very special girl named Paige. She lost her battle to cancer at the age of two and 1/2. She and Meghan were good friends. Paige always had a smile on her face. She always shared. She just lived life to the fullest each day with a smile. She taught me that even though life is not easy, you can still have a smile and do your best. She taught me that a smile can really change a person's life.

Thank you Paige.

So in Paige's name we will donate all the money raised. It is still coming in so I will give you the final totally next week.

Live by this.

I hope you all take the time to read the following. It
was written by a cancer child in her last few hours to live.

YOU BETTER SLOW DOWN.

Have you ever watched kids on a merry go round?
Or listened to the rain slapping on the ground?
Ever followed a butterfly’s erratic flight?
Or gazed at the sun into the fading night?

YOU BETTER SLOW DOWN.
DON'T DANCE SO FAST
TIME IS SHORT
THE MUSIC WON’T LAST

Do you run through each day on the fly?
When you ask, “How are You?” Do you hear the reply?
When the day is done, do you lie in your bed with the next hundred chores running thru you head?

YOU BETTER SLOW DOWN.
DON’T DANCE SO FAST
TIME IS SHORT
THE MUSIC WON’T LAST

Ever told your child we’ll do it tomorrow, and in haste, not see his sorrow?
Ever lost touch, let a good friendship go because you never had time to call and say Hi?

YOU BETTER SLOW DOWN
DON’T DANCE SO FAST
TIME IS SHORT
THE MUSIC WON’T LAST.

When you run so fast to get somewhere you miss half the fun of getting there.
When you worry and hurry through your day, it is like an unopened gift….thrown away.
Life is not a race So take it slower.

HEAR THE MUSIC
BEFORE THE SONG IS OVER.

unwanted situations. It is too bad that some people in the world have to ruin good things for others.

CF clinic visit 4/14/08

HI

People have asked us to post Meghan's medical updates. So I will do it every 3 months, as that is when we do our clinic visits with her medical team.

Today was our April visit. All reports are good so far. Good weight gain 25.7kg to 27kg, good lung functions FEV1 160, good diabeties numbers btw 70-135 with occasional high spikes. We have some lab stuff coming back next week that tests her Kidney functions. Some of the meds she is on can affect the kidneys. Let's pray it doesn't. So all in all a good visit.

Daddy met us up there for a meeting afterwards to map out her current and future plans. Ya know those hormones are coming. Yippeeeeeee I can hardly wait.

Well that is all for now.

Extreme Home Makeover in MA

Helloooooooooooooo

So I got out of the hospital on Thursday night and Friday morning I went to Maynard Ma to see my buddies from Extreme Home Makeover. I was soooo excited to see Paulie. I miss him so much. I also so my buddies Tonya, Michael, and TY. I got to talk to Ty and he videod it. AND I got to meet Paige, the designer that always wears PINK. I got to go in the house as they were finishing it. It is so cool. I can't tell you what is inside it but you should really watch this story.

I got to sit in the star trailer with Michael, Paige, and Paulie to watch the family go thru the house and see their expressions. That was cool.

I think besides seeing Paulie the other best thing is they made me "TRANSPO CAPTIAN".
They gave me a walkie talkie and I was in total control of the transportation team. I got to send drivers to do all kinds of things. I got to help the designers get things they needed and send it to them. I think I want to work for them and travel with them.

Bye for now. Meghan

Ed and Susan Zuckerman of Events Made Ez.

Intercontinental Hotel gave us a Suite, served us cookies and milk and a fabulous time

Hi
We just had the pleasure of going to Miami Fl to see the Hannah Montana concert. We were able to do this because of Disney and Events Made Ez. We started out by flying into Ft Lauderdale where a driver was waiting for us and took us to Wal-Mart to spend an out rageous amount of money on Hannah Montana stuff for me and the wish kids we were going to meet and take with us to the concert.
We were able to meet Miley. She was so nice and took a couple minutes to talk with Meghan. It was so nice. Miley is an outstanding role model. Meghan gave her a autographed picture. Miley said "Thank You that is so nice". They talked about the show a bit and I thanked her for doing a benefit show for an Extreme Home Makeover family, which will air Feb 10th. I know how important that is because we know first hand how much that helps a family.

I can't even begin to tell you the rest of the stories.

I can't thank Disney and Events Made Ez enough for the experience.

God Bless
Sue

That is so cool. Meghan

Proud of my mom.

CHaD News
CHaD Gets a Christmas Visit from Wal-MartWal-Mart has a long standing relationship with the Children's Hospital at Dartmouth starting back in 2000 when one of their Associates, Sue Richardson, whose daughter, Meghan, was suffering from cystic fibrosis, encouraged her store Manager, District Manager and eventually the VP for the Northeast Region to support New Hampshire's children's hospital, CHaD. Over the past 8 years, the stores in the two states have raised over $1,900,000 for CHaD.

What a great year!!!!

Her Favorite Designer..Paulie

Hi All

Wow what a year 2207 has been. Meghan has had good health. She got to spend a week with her favorite people ..The crew from Extreme Home Makeover. I think this was her favorite point of the year.

Meghan is also a Wish Ambassador for the Make A Wish Foundation of NH. She had alot of fun being the guest speaker at many events around the state. I also became a Wish Granter for them and Meghan and I were honored to grant our first wish to a young man of Nashua what fun that was seeing the smiles.

Meghan's health is great right now. Her lung function is in the 95% range which is better than most adults. She is learning alot about her diabeties. She also got braces. Not her favorite part of last year. Our goal now is to put some weight on her.

This coming year is already getting busy. Meghan is going to West Palm Beach Veterans Day Weekend to be the Media Host for a golf tourney to raise funds for injured veterans. She is very excited about this because Paulie may be going with us and she LOVES to help veterans because her papa and uncle are Vets.

We also have a few other things up our sleeve but can't tell you right now so keep checking in.

This is Katie. She is the most outstanding Childlife Specialist ever.
We are sad to say she is leaving Dartmouth. She has made a major difference in Meghan's life. We will miss her so much. But
we are glad to say she is moving home to be closer to her family.
She will be in charge of a Pedi floor in Wisconsin. They are lucky kids to have her coming there.
WE LOVE YOU KATIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We want to thank Wal-Mart for raising a record breaking $412,ooo for CHaD. Next year they will break the $2 million mark. WOW what lives you have changed for the better.
Well we hope this finds you all well. We wish you the best in 2008.
